Gemma Christina Arterton was born in Kent in Gravesend. Greater London. She is most famous as a character in films including Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, along with a host of other such as 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. She was born in Gravesend, Kent, in Greater London. Her career began after attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she made her film debut with a supporting role on the comedy movie 'St. Trinian's'. Shortly after, she was featured in the film 'Spy "James Bond" film , 'Quantum Of Solace'. It was a commercial success and had mostly positive reviews. Then she played the lead female character in the action fantasy movie "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time". Recently, she played a supporting role on the French film "Orphan,". Her professional career has led to her being selected for awards in a variety of categories. She won the prestigious Empire Award for best newcomer' for Quantum of Solace and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for her role on the stage in Made in Dagenham. The actress also took home the Glamour Awards for Woman of the Years in 2011.
